CAMPEONATO BRASILEIRO DE LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
THE PROJECT
The CBLOL (Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends) is the main competition of the electronic game League of Legends in Brazil, managed by its developer, Riot Games.
With the entry of the Brazilian esports organization Los Grandes into the CBLOL for the first season of 2023, in addition to the creation of a team with big names, it was necessary to create an announcement that lived up to the expectations created.

PLAYER'S ILLUSTRATIONS
Two versions of the players were made: casual and in uniform, for the transitions in the announcement video.
In the uniform version, each player has accessories according to their main (the most played character of each one).

SLICE-OF-LIFE
The briefing was thought of as a classic slice-of-life anime opening: illustrations depicting the daily lives of players in South Korea and Brazil would be needed.
THE TEAM COACH
When the announcement had not yet been made, there were speculations whether or not the Korean coach was on the team.
He claimed on twitter that it wasn't true, and only a few months later did he confirm the rumour.
I inserted LoL elements in the city, in graffiti on the walls, the billboard and the statue present in the game.
"The orange wave" ("A onda laranja") is a term that is part of the eSports organization Los Grandes.
TRIBUTE TO 2017
The organization won the 2017 CBLOL, and nothing fairer than paying tribute to the team's great moment, when they lifted the cup.

LETTERING
It was also necessary to create a typography that matched the style of the announcement.
I wrote it by hand, more scribbled, with some drawings that accompanied each name, so that a motion could be applied in the video editing.
For the opening title of the video, a more serious typography would be needed.
Still following the anime theme, I used PROMARE's typography as a base, which is strong, and has a break in seriousness with the lettering in red.
MOODBOARD
The chosen references were a cartoonized anime style, and backgrounds with varied colors, shapes and textures.
